A DOCTOR should be just a phone call away, says Dr. Mary Jean Villa-Real Guno, who, along with her physician friends, has come up with a brilliant idea for Philippine medicine: Home Health Care (HHC).
A graduate of UST, Dr. Guno saw the need of addressing the medical concerns of home-bound individuals and senior citizens.
Lifesaver
HHC is a health care service provider that aims to deliver medical services and wellness programs to people in the comfort of their own homes. For people who wake up with the pains of their sunset years, this unique service could be a lifesaver.
Recently, HHC opened its senior residential facility in Quezon Cityan assisted-living residence for physically- and mentally-challenged seniors that has been operating for more than four years now. It has five bedrooms, a spacious living room, a garden and an adjacent lot for alternative activities.
For those of us who are still caught up in the rat race, HHC is like a fairy godmother. Imagine, a vaccine shot or any wellness consultation in ones home or office? No more interminable queues at jammed clinics, and no more wasted time tracking down specialists who are juggling four practices in the metropolis, quipped Dr. Guno.
Led by the facilitys geriatric program director, Dr. Doris Camagay, HHC recently participated in the Memory Walk at the Luneta for Alzheimers disease patients, thus bringing to the fore their mission-vision for the elderly.
