TACLOBAN CITY?To prepare for the expected resurgence of the influenza A(H1N1), the Department of Health (DOH) in Eastern Visayas conducted on Monday an immunization campaign starting with local health workers of this city.
Dr. Eduardo Gonzaga, DOH regional director, said the latest campaign against A(H1N1) was in response to a report of the World Health Organization (WHO) on the possible return of the deadly virus that has already killed 16,713 people around the world as of March this year.
In Eastern Visayas, the DOH reported 281 cases with one death, that of an American teacher, last year.
On Monday, health workers coming from the Tacloban were given a dosage of 0.5 ml of the vaccines. The campaign will last for a week.
