More and more people are being diagnosed to have cancer with most of them undergoing chemotherapy. Due to the paucity of cancer specialists and centers in the country, there is an increasing need for our health care providers to understand and be competent in cancer care. The rising costs of hospitalization can immediately drain family resources. Cancer patients can be treated in an ambulatory clinic and go home on the same day. Trained health care providers can follow up these patients at home for assessment and manage therapy-related toxicities, educate family members on infection control to avoid prolonging hospital stay. Hence, home treatment is a cost-effective alternative to cancer management. Home health care providers need to be trained, while carers and family members need to understand the major lifestyle changes.
Home Health Care is a network of health professionals who has been providing health services in the comfort of the homes of patients for the past five years.
